How to actually make money doing consumer research.

The internet is full of websites promising that you can make a full time income filling out surveys from home. That is simply not true. However, it is true that markets want to hear your opinions when they are evaluating new products or new marketing ideas. Most of this research is done at the local level, rather than online. Usually, it is fairly difficult to do a web search to find a local company that does consumer research, but we have compiled a list of hundreds of the top companies nationwide. Most of these companies do focus group testing, where the researchers will assemble a panel of 5 to 20 people and bring them all together at the research facility. The researcher will then show them new products or marketing ideas and gather feedback and reactions. The sessions are relatively short, about 1-2 hours, and you will typically receive between $50 and $200, depending on the nature of the study.
