How to actually make money doing consumer research in Columbia, SC

Even in the modern days of the Internet, there is an overabundance of false information about get-rich-quick consumer research scams. Most of them are trying to collect money from you, rather than give money to you. However, there are actual legitimate consumer research companies that do surveys, mystery shopping, and focus groups that need participants. These services are almost always locally based, not on the Internet.

Go to http://www.coastal-focus.com/participants.htm.
Fill out the form with as detailed information as you feel comfortable with. Most of the fields are not required, but they only ask that information to find the best possible people for a given study. The more you fill out, the more likely you are to be selected.
When there is a study that needs someone in your demographic, or with your interests, career, or abilities, the company will contact you to make sure you are a match.
If you are a match, they will give you a time to come in person to their research facilities. You will participate in a focus group study, where you discuss a new product or marketing idea with a group leader and other research participants. It's not a sales pitch. In fact, what you may see may not even be on the market, so you can't buy it even if you wanted.
